The City of Rancho Cordova’s Public Works Maintenance & Operations division is seeking an enthusiastic go-getter, with a career interest in Public Works operations, contracts, asset management, and maintenance activities. This unique job offers the opportunity to build your career, including:
- Oversight and on-site inspection of work performed by contractors working on public works projects such as sidewalks, street signs, and public
landscaping
- Detailed asset management: data entry; reporting; and tracking
- Assist with project scoping related to street signs, striping, and public landscaping
- Manage contracts, expenditures and budget
- Write staff reports, provide project updates, draft request for proposals and contracts
- Develop, manage and improve public works maintenance and repair plans
- Respond to public inquiries and resolve related concerns
What We’re Looking For:
A creative and detailed problem-solver, to serve as Maintenance & Operations Technician I or Maintenance & Operations Technician II, with a passion for public service. Experience in public works projects and contracting plus strong computer skills are key elements for success in this role, as is a willingness to learn, collaborate, and be proactive.

Maintenance & Operations Technician II: $33.93 – $41.42
Placement in the position level will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
