Salary: $8,175.77 – $9,961.38 Monthly – DOQ

Join a dynamic and growing community on the American River as part of Rancho Cordova’s Public Works Stormwater Team. This team manages six miles of river and 41 miles of creeks and channels, working to safely convey runoff, protect water quality, and support sustainable development.

The Assistant Civil Engineer will assist with drainage system operations and maintenance, stormwater quality programs and NPDES permit compliance, floodplain management, and development project plan reviews. This role provides the opportunity to contribute to projects that make a lasting environmental and community impact.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.

Experience:

  • At least one (1) year of technical engineering experience is desirable; stormwater-specific experience is highly desirable.

Licenses/Certificates:

  • Valid Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate issued by the State of California.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Class C driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
