About the Presentation & Speaker: |
Megan Thomas is a professional civil engineer that has been working in the Public Works industry for more than 24 years, serving the County of San Diego, City of Napa, and City of Sacramento. Twenty two years of her experience has been specializing in drinking water systems, including treatment plant and groundwater well improvements, project design and construction, operator support and training, hydraulic modeling, unidirectional flushing programs, cathodic protection, and development/project review. In the water industry, she is known as an operations engineer, someone who understands not just the engineering aspects of water but also the needs and interests of those who operate and maintains the water systems. |
Today, Megan serves as a Senior Engineer for the City of Sacramento Department of Utilities, and is honored to work closely with plant and field operators, machinists, electricians, instrumentation staff, systems controls integrators, water quality specialists, and a team of passionate engineers to help maintain the City’s drinking water system. Currently, she is the Project Manager for the Water+ program, progressing environmental impact reports for both the treatment plant resiliency and improvements project as well as the RiverArc project with various consulting teams and partnering agencies. |
